The World map of pétanque is a Macromedia Flash ™ application which basically displays a list of pétanque links for the region/country you click on. It should work with most graphic oriented webbrowsers on all Windows, Mac, Linux & Unix plattforms with the appropriate plugin.
You navigate back and forth as you click on the different maps. For some countries, it opens a more detailed map, where you will find links to the websites of the local pétanque clubs, region by region or state by state. For some others, when all links can be shown on one page, I haven't drawn a separate map yet. I might in the future, as the number of pétanque sites might increase in those countries, allthough I must admit that Norway and particularly the Czech Republic have already reached that point and desserve a more detailed map, and so I wish to apologize for my laziness to all pétanque fans in these countries.
Why no maps of Africa and Central America? Because I haven't found pétanque sites in those parts of the world yet, except in South Africa (see link on the Federations page). Allthough pétanque is quite popular in some African countries, Internet is not. The World map of pétanque can only report about those pétanque clubs which are represented on the Internet. However, on several pages, the Clubs button might refer to other websites offering complete lists and more informations about pétanque clubs in their area.
If you run a pétanque website or know about one which isn't on any map yet, you can easily submit it to me using the Add a Club form.
